Telescopic conveyors for chocolate manufacturer
Newland Engineering recently completed an order for a total of six heavy duty telescopic boom conveyors. Supplied to 2 sites in different countries for the same chocolate manufacturer, four units supplied to the customer site in Istanbul Turkey & two units to the customer’s factory in Bulgaria.
Installed as part of a conveying system to unload 75kg bags of cocoa beans from 40ft containers,
the telescopic units were mounted on high level fixed chassis as there is no raised loading dock at the customer premises in Istanbul.
The Newland telescopic boom conveyors were fitted with Heavy Duty Droop Snouts, designed specifically for handling very heavy loads. They have an under carriage with a shock absorber to take the initial impact of the 75kg bag drop load.
We worked closely on this project with our distributor in the Netherlands, De-With Group (Pewisys) & a Dutch company that supplied the conveyor system & bag palletiser.
A Ski-Jump arrangement mounted on the main section of the Newland MTC4X main section transfers the bags to an incline conveyor up to a conveyor system to an automatic robotic bag palletiser.
