Newland Engineering have been successful in winning the tender for supplying 10 Newland WS 20 Mobile Slat Conveyors to Oman government food reserves. The mobile conveyors are to be used for stacking & de-stacking 50kg bags of rice, flour, sugar & grain up to 5.8m in height [WS30 model can reach a delivery height of 8.0m]. Michael Kyrycz Export Sales Manager of Newland Engineering stated ‘’We worked together on the tender with our Distributor in Oman Business International Group. The tender process was very thorough against tough competition’’. We have a very good relationship with Business International Group to whom we have supplied many of our mobile models going back over 20years. They have their own in house engineers that can look after and maintain our equipment should the need arise. ’’ The Newland WS mobile slat conveyor has the design advantage of twin boom movement whereby both front & rear booms can raise up to a 40deg incline and fully lower to floor level. Both booms can raise or lower to the stack height of the bags using motorised hydraulic height adjustment.
Fitted on a mobile chassis with solid rubber tyred wheels [Puncture proof], front and rear axles having double wheel arrangement total 4 wheels per axle giving better spread of chassis floor loading and ease of movement over rough ground. Front & rear axles have 180deg movement enabling the conveyor to move at 90deg to the stack during the stacking or de-stacking operation. The front axle is fitted with a towbar The WS models are very robust with minimum maintenance required with a tried & tested history in the field. They require a 400v-3ph-50Hz supply but can been fitted with diesel generators where there is no power supply available The first batch of 4 have been shipped with the remaining 6 to follow.
