MADE IN TAMESIDE

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council have launched a new initiative to promote local businesses and employment. Newland are proud to have
been one of the first companies to be approached to participate in this
new campaign.
Members of the Employment & Skills, Development & Investment team from TMBC visited Newland and took photographs in the works of staff carrying out their daily duties and spoke to them about their role within
the company, length of service etc.
The photographs taken go live on the Council’s website this week on www.liveworkinvest.com with Newland’s theme being ‘Made in Tameside and Exported Worldwide’. The Council hopes to encourage more local businesses to export their products and services.
As a local employer, Newland have signed a pledge with the local authority to wherever possible create jobs for local people including apprenticeships and to display the “Made in Tameside” logo on our website.
The initiative was launched at a Tameside Breakfast Business Summit
which was chaired by the Council’s Chief Executive and a key note speech was given by Councillor Kieran Quinn Executive Leader of Tameside Council.
