JBT Aerotech custom conveyor

Newland Engineering Ltd have recently completed an order to supply JBT Aerotech UK Ltd, Bridgend, South Wales with a modified Newland W-Type mobile belt conveyor – WTC38X model.

The WTC38X unit was supplied without its mobile chassis, belt drive units, hydraulic pump unit & control panel, to be mounted on a ground support vehicle manufactured by JBT Aerotech UK.

Aerotech fitted hydraulic driven motors, hydraulic pump unit & control panel.

The support vehicle with Newland WTC38X is to be used for loading & unloading of Royal Navy ships.

Newland W Type conveyors have ‘Twin Adjustable Booms’ whereby both front & rear booms have +/- 30 degrees of movement enabling the loading & unloading to raise /lower to the stack height of the goods/supplies, with the front boom also being able to raise or lower to various tidal heights.

The front boom is also equipped with a motorised telescopic boom which extends/retracts 4.7 m.

With the telescopic boom fully extended the front boom has a reach of 11.95 m. Side walls are fitted to both front & rear booms with the front boom having telescopic tubular side walls.

JBT Aerotech UK Ltd was formally known as Aircraft Maintenance Support Services (AMSS). It was founded in 1978 by Duncan Barber.

Newland Engineering have been supplying a modified version of W Type model to AMSS for over 20 years.

AMSS are known for the design, manufacture and repair of aircraft ground support equipment including cargo, catering and passenger handling equipment, heater, air conditioning and fuel tank repair trolleys, toilet and water servicing trucks, mobile docks and aircraft maintenance access equipment. Remote control and special systems.

They are acknowledged specialists in the industry and have an established reputation as one of the best in the world in their market sector.

AMSS joined JBT Aerotech in 2017 adding new military and commercial products to the JBT family of ground support equipment.
