During the lockdown period Newland Engineering were fortunate to be still open & busy manufacturing with ongoing orders.
As we know the roads during this time were very quiet & the best start to Spring with great sunny weather. This encouraged several of our staff to want to cycle to work. This prompted Newland into offering all staff a cycle to work scheme.
The salary sacrifice scheme enables employees to purchase a bike and/ or appropriate clothing and protective/safety equipment, as well as benefit from tax & National Insurance savings.
Mrs Lynn Kerfoot, Newland Managing Director, said: ”It is part of our commitment to helping those staff who want to commute to work & combine it with a daily exercise routine. Cycling is an ideal solution.
Cycling provides a healthy and environmentally-friendly alternative to commuting by car or public transport.”
Two staff members have now signed up for the scheme & have been cycling to work since the beginning of May.
