Newland Engineering has been busy with a large export order during Covid19 restrictions. A total of fourteen telescopic belt conveyors, Newland model ‘MTC2 Heavy Duty Sack Handling Specification’ for a flour mill project in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Mrs Lynn Kerfoot, Newland Managing Director comments: ”We were fortunate to receive the order just before the lockdown restrictions were imposed. We were able to continue to operate whilst following the guidelines on social distancing, hand washing and sanitising”.
We had already got most of our stock in from our suppliers with the exception of gearboxes for the machine drive units which we source from Northern Italy. These were delayed by two months but arrived in time for the first batch of five machines despatched at the end of June. This export order together with several UK orders has kept the factory open & busy during these challenging times.
We thank everyone for working with us: our staff, customers & suppliers.
I am particularly grateful to our staff who have been committed to the company throughout these challenging times.
Remember to be aware & stay safe, the virus is still out there.”
